At Epic we understand HOME. A home in the deepest is, the people you love and their safety.
Before the Holiday, Epic and I ventured to Southern California to work on a few projects near the coast. This was especially exciting to me, because it’s my hometown. Traveling above the Tahoe mountains and down to the sandy beaches of Malibu. From up above or in the midst of the cities down below the world seems so grand. That is, until tragedy hits.
I grew up hiking those hills, lying on those beaches, and line-dancing in that bar. I watched friends and loved ones deploy in engines to help fight fires. I drove the streets filled with mourning mothers and fathers after the shooting. I sat and waited to hear our evacuation notice for the fires.
As the recent events throughout the states have brought turmoil to the environments we call home, it makes one realize how small, connected, and relevant we all are to each other. In a time that feels so unique it’s incredible to know you are NOT alone.
Epic took the Holiday weekend to explore the deep definition of home. We took time for those we are closest to, opened our Thanksgiving tables to those affected by fires, and shut down from the hustle and bustle of events around us. We hope you, our valued clients, and friends were able to do the same! We are extra thankful for the time of rest, reflection and are fully reenergized to serve our communities.
We understand the physical and tangible definition of a home can be just as important as it’s roots. In the coming stages of transition and change, Epic is here to guide you back home.
Welcome to our Blog! I know many of you have seen our last few Blogs written by my counterpart, Savanna Eccles in the past, but this month, I’m taking over because we have some exciting news here in Texas that we want to share.
My name is Lynn Tokoph. I am Business Development Manager of Epic tech and VP of Epic Designs and I’m also on the HBA Parade of Homes committee for Austin, Texas.
Can you believe It’s October 1st? And the crisp, cool, smell of fall air is finally in the air. Not only is this the month for cider mills, pumpkins and Halloween lovers, this is also the month that the HBA Austin will be showcasing their Parade of Homes in the beautiful “Mirabella” of Travisso right here in Cedar Park, Texas. All of us at Epic Tech & Designs Texas will be showcasing the latest trends and fun in smart home technology, and not in just one, but two of the homes this year.
We are so excited to collaborate with Vogel Builders, and Aluxa Homes.
Each home has it’s own unique style and beauty, but both are loaded with smart technology that Epic Tech & Designs has integrated and installed. Come take a tour and see, touch, feel how simple it is to incorporate a platform system, such as an Elan system, that you will see in both of the homes listed above.
Hi guys! You may be thinking it’s only May, but if you’re anything like me… you love summer, outdoor parties, and The Red, White and Blue Holiday that is 4th of July.
Feel free to shop along as I walk you through some ideas for a festive 4th of July 2018 gathering. I’ll also include my favorite local activities for those readers in the following areas: Lake Tahoe, Truckee, Austin, and Malibu.
I like my day to consist of simple foods, block parties or backyard barbeques with usually just the closets of family and friends.
-A fun and healthy DIY: Fill a tiered organizer or cake plate with fresh watermelon slices.
-Take a trip to your local farmers market to stock up on yummy berries
-Then try a recipe like this one via “Hello Bee” for a beautiful and light fruit pizza.
I try to create a tablescape that ensures each guest has a personal space to call “their own” throughout the day. Simple, inviting, and comfortable is my motto for a long day like the 4th.
Try separating your table settings with a galvanized tray or wicker basket. This will give your guest that personal space, and eliminate any confusion as to whose silverware or cups are whose. A guest with a lost drink is something to avoid at all costs...
My name is Savanna, I am the “Beach Girl” from Southern California and I’m also the Senior Interior Designer and Blogger!

So this is how it all got started. Lynn Tokoph, our Vice President and Interior stylist came from a background of interior design back in the Metro Detroit area and had worked with a very high-end custom home builder working on their spec homes in an affluent area. Through this, she acquired many jobs from word of mouth such as the quarterback of the Detroit lions and his family, some local executives and many other homeowners who wanted beautifully custom designed homes.
She started from the stage of meeting with the architects, builder and clients going over blue prints. They would then decide to make any changes to the plans, elevation modifications, lighting layouts, etc. She also worked project managing, even braving the freezing cold part of winter during the rough stages, (since you must continue to stay on schedule), working with all contractors on a daily basis. Her passion is working with builders, contractors, and the homeowners.
“I love working with so many different personalities and then bringing the client’s dreams to reality with so many cool design elements, details, color selections, textures, tile design ideas, custom wood details, cabinetry, etc. Bringing it all together to the very end to create a beautiful comfortable place where her clients can call home is what it’s all about”, said Lynn.
Here Are the Ideal Ways to Conceal or Enhance Your Television
You’re probably really excited about your new 65” Ultra HD television. For your interior designer, that TV is a design nightmare.
When it comes to TVs, “bigger and better” is on the rise. When it comes to design, the more subtle the technology, the better. So how do you strike a balance in your Austin, TX home?
There are two primary techniques for incorporating your TV into your interior design: CONCEAL or ENHANCE. And, if you haven’t heard of Media Decor, then you don’t know about the best high-design solutions available.
